Chris Froome was awarded an OBE in the New Year's Honours List, for services to cycling. According to Cycling Weekly, he said 'it caps a fantastic year for me professionally and personally.'
Froome came sixth in the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year 2015 contest, receiving 39,007 votes. Andy Murray won with 361,446 votes, and Kevin Sinfield was second.
